We just heard that the project below was granted planning permission.
It’s a flat roof and gabled extension to a 1950’s or so hipped single storey Irish cottage.
What’s interesting is the process that it takes to get to a granted design. There would be dozens of sketch designs, planning designs and client/planning amendments before this design is arrived at that fulfils specific criteria from the client, existing house and planners.
The layout links the existing with the new with a flat roof section and then the new living room is vaulted with a ridge beam as the interior rendered image below:
The project will also come under S.I No.9 of 2014.
