And no, I’m not going to suggest a fight Harry Hill style; it’s a genuine conundrum that I currently have:

Here’s my guess on the background/sequence of events, no names/packdrill or location! :

  • Large lime-rendered 2 storey brick & stone villa is re-plastered with a cement based plaster.
  • Damp starts to penetrate to interior, doesn’t dry out so owner guts interior and dry-lines with timber studwork (100mm) and high-density insulation

    Bear in mind the dry-lining to the house is practically finished and that removing any cement plaster may cause damage to the underlying masonry.
