I loved the idea of County Councils ending a request for Further Information on a planning application with an ‘Advice Note’ These ‘Advice Notes’ were far from advice, if you didn’t do them you wouldn’t get your planning permission.

Well I am now doing my own (more along the lines of what advice should be) to give to clients and contractors and I’m starting with a good one; clients and (sometimes) builders making changes as they go which are not exactly the same as the planning permission documents.

So what should the architect do? Below is my advice:

Advice Note No. 1 – Planning Deviations and Compliance

In much the same vein as ‘Things you should know before you start’ in the right sidebar, these Advice Notes will also be located here and be added to ‘as and when’
