I can split my ‘weekend warriors’ clients into two categories:
* Self builders and
* Holiday Homers
The former tend to be working full-time jobs and are only currently available (so that you can see things in daylight) during the weekends. The latter tend to visit their houses or sites over the weekend. As you can see, in order to meet the clients I tend to work a lot of weekends. I’m happy to do this (especially in the current economic turbulence).
So what was I doing last weekend?
Site visit 1 was to try and sort out site access issues on a planning further information request; remember: It isn’t the design that will scupper your planning application…
On the latter it was a general site progress meeting with block layer to check over how he was getting on with the 200mm cavity wall in the good ol’ Irish cavity wall and working with the low conductivity fibre-glass wall ties (below):
But it’s important to balance things out, If I’m working at weekends then I try to take off a bit of time during the week (if I can). So if you see me tweet any photos whilst on my bike during the week it means that I’ve done a few extra hours over the weekend.
I’m glad to hear that you balance out your weekend work, too many people just tack it on to their workweek. I’m not productive if I don’t take time to do things like riding my bike!
Agreed, plus finding the time for all the family stuff (just back from 8yo Christmas Play!)
