Well the clients to this double-ended extension to a 1990’s Irish dormer bungalow have moved in and my the house is warm.
Here are the features:
• Extensions at both ends, one end curved walled with curved barges the other curved roofed.
• Highly insulated and airtight construction
• Provisional BER at B2 but forecast to be A3/B1 subject to final airtightness test
They’ve only just moved in and there is still some work to do with the mezzanine & landing but overall the project has gone well.
It’s important to say that a self-build project of this type will not be possible after March 1st this year as self-builders will not be able to complete extensions >40m2.
Well done to the clients who have self-built a very tricky project; I provided the full architectural service from sketch design to planning to tender information to on-site inspection.

Will have to go back and update photos of these eclectic extensions to Irish dormer bungalow
