Mark Stephens Architects are Assigned Certifiers under S.I.No. 9 of 2014
I thought I’d use this post to set out my stall:
• Yes, I will be an Assigned Certifier under S.I No.9 of 2014 (as well as ‘Designer’ under same Statutory Instrument)
Here’s the background of my qualifications/training:
• I am a UK registered architect with the Architect’s Registration Board (ARB), able to use title as Architect under Article 46 of Directive 2005/36/EC on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications (ARB)
• I am a Chartered UK Architect with the Royal Institute of British Architects under Royal Charter granted 1837 (Supplemental Charters granted in 1887, 1909 and 1925. These were subsequently revoked and replaced by a single Charter in 1971) (RIBA)
• I am a registered Irish Architect with the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (RIAI), able to use title as Architect under the Building Control Amendment of 2007
• I am a registered ‘Designer’ and ‘Assigned Certifier’ with the Building Control Management System (BCMS) under S.I. No. 9 of 2014 (As Registered Architect (RIAI Register))
Be warned however, my goal is architectural and structural excellence – I won’t be the cheapest (or even probably the most expensive)
Absolutely, always strive for excellence, never prostitute the profession or standards for short term commercial gain.
