It was with great shock in the architectural world that she suddenly passed away in March of this year aged only 65.<\/p>\n<p>Most of her work was for public buildings and remarkably there was only a single house that was designed and constructed within her lifetime &#8211; the Capital Hill Residence is a villa in Barvikha Forest close to Moscow. And thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dezeen<\/a> magazine I found this Youtube movie showing Sir Norman Foster comparing the CGI visuals to what was constructed (below):<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\"  id=\"_ytid_96380\"  width=\"480\" height=\"270\"  data-origwidth=\"480\" data-origheight=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-00n12nnzTI?enablejsapi=1&autoplay=0&cc_load_policy=0&cc_lang_pref=&iv_load_policy=1&loop=0&modestbranding=0&rel=1&fs=1&playsinline=0&autohide=2&theme=dark&color=red&controls=1&\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe>\n<p>It got me to thinking whether it would be possible for an Irish County Council; as the Rural Design Guide from Mayo County Council states:<\/p>\n<p><strong>THIS DOES NOT PRECLUDE HIGH QUALITY CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN THAT IS SENSITIVELY SITED, SCALED AND DETAILED.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But would this be a step too far? We&#8217;re in the process of trying to get a &#8216;normal&#8217; house through planning in Mayo at the moment in a very similar forested location.
