And you can see what Mayo County Council has to say about pre-planning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mayococo.ie\/en\/Planning\/PlanningGuidesandTutorials\/PrePlanningMeetings\/\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve recently been notified of planning permission on the Passive House (planned) below:<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\"  id=\"_ytid_98110\"  width=\"480\" height=\"270\"  data-origwidth=\"480\" data-origheight=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6MxuPrjGzzU?enablejsapi=1&autoplay=0&cc_load_policy=0&cc_lang_pref=&iv_load_policy=1&loop=0&modestbranding=0&rel=1&fs=1&playsinline=0&autohide=2&theme=dark&color=red&controls=1&\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe>\n<p>This application took nearly a year of pre-planning and I now have the following observations to make regarding pre-planning:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Your pre-planning meeting can result in an informal meeting which is basically just a chat. Or a formal pre-planning application. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The formal pre-planning requires you to complete a form (the one for Mayo County Council is available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mayococo.ie\/en\/Planning\/Forms\/WordFile,1837,en.doc\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The formal pre-planning has to be assigned a planner who has to look at site and proposals and give a written appraisal of their opinion.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The formal pre-planning guidance will cover a lot but it may still not cover everything. The response may not take into account ground conditions, road access or any archaeological issues for example.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The submission for pre-planning can result in the same amount of work for a full planning application. This was the case in the above example. Therefore the architectural fee should be essentially the same.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The formal pre-planning can take the same amount of time as a full planning application. This was the case in the above example.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The benefit of the formal pre-planning is that a lot of items that could come up later as problems are covered at this stage and addressed earlier than at the planning stage.
