Just received confirmation of GRANT of planning permission of these 2 schemes:

What’s interesting about these schemes is that they adhere to the Mayo Rural Housing Design Guidelines I’ve referred to this publication on numerous occasions but anyone building in Mayo should read and understand this excellent publication.
The guidelines described in this publication do not dictate what your design should be but instead give a recommended direction in which to create a suitable and sustainable architecture for Mayo. The publication also encourages contemporary design and advises “to employ the services of an experienced, qualified architect”, ahem.
But why do these contemporary designs hold the Design Guidelines?
