Can I move? Why you need to let architects ‘move’ #ButchCassidyandtheSundanceKid

There’s a great scene in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid where the Sundance Kid (Robert Redford) is asked to hit an object on the ground. Why explain it in words. Here’s the clip:

In much the same way you need to let architects ‘move’.

• Give them some space to design

• Give them the flexibility to experiment with designs

• Don’t dictate the design

• Don’t ask them to ‘just draw up my design’ – there are cheaper ways if you want this and you’re not maximising the skills of the architect
