2 Tier Building Control system implemented in Ireland from Sept 1st

After a lot of wondering what it was going to look like, S.I.9 has been updated via S.I. 365 so that one-off houses/extensions are exempt from the key aspects of S.I.9.

This in one swoop has created effectively a two-tier Building Control system in Ireland.

And a great summary of the new legislation and its implications can be found on the BRegsForum site HERE

We’ll have to wait for the dust to settle to see what the banks and Law Society will make of this…
